Further conservation work has taken place at Red Lane, Abbotsbury helping to show the features of the Abbotsbury Ironstone.

Conservation work took place at our site at Hardown Hill, Morcombelake on 24 November keeping the Cretaceous Upper Greensand chert beds exposed. Some information boards have been prepared in collaboration with the National Trust, the Hardown Society and Dorset Wild Life Trust and it is hoped that these will be in place in the spring of 2016.

A conservation session at Holt Farm Quarry, Melbury Osmond took place on Friday 9th October.

This former quarry used for Forest Marble was overgrown with nettles and the rock face covered in moss. However a couple of hours work made a great difference.
