Evershot Conservation

On Thursday 26 February, despite grotty weather, some DIGS members visited our site at Evershot and carried out long overdue conservation on the rock face which was poorly exposed due to a cover of weathered debris (talus).

The Chalk / Upper Greensand boundary is now clearly exposed. We hope to carry out further work shortly to clean the rock face further.

Whitecliff Conservation

Despite variable weather, sunshine and torrential showers, members of the group spent the morning of 13 January at Whitecliff in Poole Park.

The clay exposure was partially covered with gorse and other vegetation which means this interesting site for geology and industrial archaeology is less obvious. See website information or the information board at the site.

Quarr Lane Conservation

We had a conservation session on Saturday 29 November at Quarr Lane and had a good tidy up. Pictures attached. One picture taken in February 2010 before we started on the conservation programme and a second picture taken on Saturday shows progress made.
