Conservation Work at Hardown Hill

A small but dedicated band (4) went to Hardown Hill on 23 April and good progress was made.

Here are some before and after pictures of what it was like last year before we started and what it was like yesterday lunchtime when we finished:

The sun shone, the sky was blue so it was really enjoyable apart from the fact that Alan forgot his gloves and he was clearing gorse and bramble!

Conservation Work at Bincombe and Kingston Maurward

On 23rd February a group of our members spent the morning carrying out conservation work on two of our sites, one at Bincombe, near Upwey north of Weymouth and secondly at a chalk pit at Kingston Maurward near Dorchester.

more or less finished and new sign in place

Despite the chilly February weather we set to and enjoyed some sunshine too. Both sites were somewhat overgrown but are now in good condition to demonstrate the geological interest.
