On Saturday 9 April, despite some typical April weather, some members of the DIGS group worked on the road section at Upwey which exposes the top of the Portland Beds and the base of the Purbeck Beds.
The group last worked on it in the summer of 2012 so some weeding was needed. Further work is planned higher up the sequence. See before and after pictures:
Some recent work at our Bird’s Quarry site at Todber involved cleaning up the main rock face and removing some small trees to better expose a second face at right angles to the first.
Bird’s Quarry lived up to its name when an inquisitive pheasant came to inspect our work!
