The planned conservation session at the Upwey road cutting went well this morning helped by some good weather after the stormy weekend! Four of us cleaned up the rock face adjacent to the road. The section on the farm road needs a good session, and hopefully we will arrange that next week when we have our on line meeting (Tuesday 9th at 7pm.). A big thank you to Andy, Geoff P and Paul for their hard work this morning.
For those of you not familiar with this site it is not a DIGS site but it is part of an SSSI and results from the road improvement prior to the 2012 Olympics. It exposes the boundary of the Portland Limestone with the Purbeck Beds and it is valuable as an inland site on the north side of the Weymouth Anticline.
